Feature Request

Post all features you would like to see in future updates!
Those with lots of votes will get looked at first

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. Allow distros in other mounts such as /sdcard-ext

I would love to see an enhancement to allow the distro installs to be placed on /sdcard-ext. The Motorola Razr Maxx has an internal 8GB storage that uses /sdcard, the actually removable SD card is mounted at /sdcard-ext and supports up to 32GB.

    • Add info about default VNC username and password

For instance, on Debian 4 there is no username and password is "debian"

It is already in each install guide on the last page (After the page that talks about booting the distro). However in the next builds the image will ask you for a password for vnc on first boot

      • use XFCE but LXDE

XFCE is a much more complete Desktop than LXDE with about the same system requirements and speed

        • allow write access option for ubuntu user for sdcard

Have the script prompt whether the Ubuntu user should have write access to the sdcard, and mount it appropriately. There will be some users who really want this and some who definitely don't, so an option in the script with the ability to set the user's choice as a default (much like as per screen resolution) would be great. Thanks.

            • Option to run chroot at boot time

It would be nice if, at boot, chroot would run and mount the Linux img so I can always have access to it from all terminal emulators. This wouldn't start VNC, but just give command line access. An addition would be to add a script that could be added as a widget with Script Manager to start the VNC client up without prompting you for any input and possibly launch the VNC client of your choosing( the auto launch VNC client is just a very tiny 'nice to have' and not even sure if that's doable via ScriptManager )

              • lightweight desktop on newest ubuntu core

Ubuntu 12.04 is nice, Unity is nice, but on "old" device like Galaxy TAB 7, with one core and 512Mb is very slow. LXDE o XFCE as default should be a better choice.
